Built by a maker, for makers.
InstantIoT didn’t start as a product. It started as the tool I wished existed.
I’ve been building things for a long time.
I’m a maker. Since 2015, embedded systems and mobile development have been my path — Arduino firmware, C++, Android apps, real production work, not just weekend experiments.
My day job is as a network admin at an ISP in Canada, where I spend my time understanding how networks actually behave in the real world — what makes them reliable, and what breaks them.
Embedded + mobile + networks. That combination is exactly what IoT demands — and exactly what InstantIoT is built on.

I wanted to connect my projects — to my phone, my WiFi, my house.
It sounds simple. It wasn’t. I tried the options that already existed — each one good in its own right, each one asking me to give up something I cared about:
Each of them is the right tool for someone. None of them fit the maker who wants simplicity and seriousness at the same time — without giving up one for the other.
So I built what was missing. First for my own projects.
I used it every day at home, through a long development cycle, refining it against real projects instead of imaginary ones. When it had earned its place on my own bench, I knew it was time to share it.
Bringing the Arduino spirit back to IoT.
Arduino changed everything by making electronics accessible without taking away control. Simple to start, open to go deep. Somewhere along the way, IoT lost that spirit — it got locked behind closed platforms and other people’s servers.
InstantIoT is a tribute to that spirit, built around four things I refuse to compromise on:
Simplicity
Accessible to start, from a visual dashboard to a clean Arduino DSL. No boilerplate, no jargon wall.
Autonomy
Your hardware, your data, your setup. You stay in control of what you build — and where it runs.
Community
A place to share projects, help each other, and push local-first IoT forward together.
Long-term stability
What you build today should still be running years from now, on hardware you own.
🔒 It runs on your hardware
InstantIoT works on your own setup — your phone talking directly to your device, or your own self-hosted server on your network. Your data stays where it belongs: with you. And if connecting from anywhere ever becomes part of your project, that stays your choice to add — on your terms.
The docs and the community are open to everyone.
Everything you need to start building, and the people building alongside you.
This is an invitation.
InstantIoT is built in the open, alongside the people who use it. The community is where we share what we make, help each other when we’re stuck, and shape what comes next.
